Environmental Statement

In today’s society, we understand that the protection of our environment is a prominent issue. Furthermore, it is up to each and everyone of us to do our part to protect and sustain what we have and try to provide enrichment for the future. That is why Wabash Valley and Urbanscape continually try to "Green-Up" our processes and offer products that can help achieve a high level of sustainability for all projects that they are part of.

Within our production, we strive to utilize material and manufacture material in an environmental-friendly mindset. From incorporating material with recycled content to creating products that are 100% recyclable and many layers in-between.

We make certain that our processes, from elimination of scrap material to filtering of waste water, are conducive to environmental protection.

Being an outdoor site amenities manufacturer, we understand that our interest lies in taking care of the land we were given, so that all inhabitants may enjoy the beauty, not only for the present, but for generations to come!

SUSATAINABLE SITES:
Credit 4.2 – Alternative Transportation – Bicycle racks and loops are manufactured to allow designers the opportunity to encourage the use alternate methods of transportation, by providing a means to secure these bicycles.

Credit 7.2 – Heat Island Effect – Wabash Valley and Urbanscape, both provide shade structures in the forms of umbrellas and shelters that will offer shade for public areas.

  • Cardboard – 29-31% recycled material
    • Post Consumer Recycled Content – 3-26%
    • Post Industrial Recycled Content – 3-28%
  • Sand Castings – 5% recycled material
  • Perm Mold Castings – 10-15% recycled material
  • Expanded Metal – 10-100% recycled material
  • Tube – 31-100% recycled material
  • Flat Bar – 30-95% recycled material
  • Welded Wire – 100% recycled material
  • Sheet Steel, Coil, & Blanks –
    • 91.4% our sheet, coil, and blank steel is mfg to the Federal Government. Buy America Program, in compliance with the UBA.
    • 98% of the steel used in our product is manufactured in Electric Induction Furnaces, helping to reduce our carbon foot print on our environment. The Buy America program is a Federal Government program that mandates the amount of recycled material that is to be used in the manufacture of steel. Not only does this program provide a higher recycled content by using only mills on this program, they also help keep Americans working and help strengthens our economy.
    • Post Consumer Recycled Content – 75.8%
    • Post Industrial Recycled Content – 17%
  • The balance of steel products used in WVM products have the following
    • Post Consumer Recycled Content – 23 – 58%
    • Post Industrial Recycled Content – 7.3-32.6%
  • All Steel material is purchased locally/Regionally with in 175 Mile radius of Silver Lake, to help reduce the environmental impact from transportation as well as fuel consumption.
  • All steel and aluminum scrap are sent to local recyclers
  • Converted from Lithonia Hi Tex Light to Spec Light T5 Reducing Energy consumption, The T5 lights use 50% less energy than the Lithonia
  • Process water is 99% recycled
  • 100% of our plastisol waste is sent back to the manufacturer for recycling into other products.
  • We recycle 100% of our zinc power primer on all powder coated furniture.
  • We purchase our cleaning rags from the local Goodwill, these are rags that are recycled from clothing that cannot be reused
  • We launder our work gloves by doing this were can get 2-3 times the use from them.
